John Kennedy’s Cylette© Collection utilizes a concept so unique that he has been awarded two US patents. The emphasis of John’s work embodies colored gemstones cut in cylindrical shape, set in gold and platinum. Cylettes© display the rich natural color of these gemstones through the concept of “light transmission, rather than reflection.” This technique renders the vivid color of the gemstones thru a multi-dimensional aspect not found in traditional jewelry.

Each and every piece, being individually handcrafted on a limited production basis in his studio in Massachusetts, Cylettes© are only available in twenty galleries around the world.

The simple cylinder of color, not traditionally set but constructed like a master craftsman’s dowel joint, inside the design of one of John Kennedy’s Aperture settings is mesmerizing. Light plays within his Cylettes© cut gemstones in a nontraditional way. The gems have no facets and they are not cabochons or crystals; they are different. The design is clean, classic, sophisticated and yet simple.
