Keep your diamond jewelry looking sparkly by washing it daily. Use a soft toothbrush and some liquid dish detergent or Windex and gently massage the underneath of your gemstones. All gemstones attract grease which dust immediately sticks to. All you need to do is cut that grease and your gems will sparkle like new!

Diamond is the hardest mineral on
Diamond has a high refractive index giving it the most scintillation (sparkle) of any gemstone other than Zircon.
Diamond forms under high temperature and pressure conditions that exist only about 100 miles beneath the earth’s surface. Diamond’s carbon atoms are bonded in essentially the same way in all directions. Another mineral, graphite, also contains only carbon, but its formation process and crystal structure are very different. Graphite is so soft that you can write with it, while diamond is so hard that you can only scratch it with another diamond.
Beryl forms large crystals suitable for sizable fashioned gems and carvings as shown here in this necklace. You can also see the many varieties of beryl. Beryl is the mineral for several important gemstone varieties such as Aquamarine, Emerald, Morganite, and Heliodor.
Aquamarine is 7.5 – 8.0 on the Mohs Hardness scale making it an excellent jewelry gemstone. The iridescent tones of this Tahitian Black Pearl drop are nicely enhanced by the princess cut aquamarine.
